When we finally bought new "adult" furniture, I did away with all the crap I bought at IKEA, except this coffee table, which was well built with brackets underneath for extra support.

Instead of throwing it out, I decided to turn it into a window bench.

I had a piece of 3" thick foam, cut at the craft store, that was for the seat. Then I used 3 - 24 inch pillows for the back rest.

I made everything a slipcover so I could easily take it off and throw it in the washer.

Eventually I plan to either make a skirt to hide stuff underneath, or just put some nice storage baskets under there.
