These
are cute and spooooky for Halloween.
You KNOW
how I despise box cake mix, and make everything from scratch. However, instead
of boring you with details on how to make cupcakes, I'll just move on to the
good stuff.
Halloween
Grave Cupcakes
I will say, that this recipe from EVERYDAY
FOOD made the softest best cupcakes I have ever tasted. Also - my secret?
REAL VALRHONA cocoa powder. It's a must.
I
found tiny doll arms at the local Stats, 24 for $1.59. Good deal for baby arms,
I think, who knows.
I
really need a food processor - this one that is an attachment to my blender,
ain't cutting it. But the little rocky bits do make it more 'dirt like.'
Now
frost the cupcakes and dip them into your freshly ground chocolate cookie dirt.
Ah, deliciously creepy goodness. Tombstones would be nice, but who has the time..
I first
saw these 'Buried Alive' cupcakes in the Clare Crespo "Hey
there cupcake" cookbook. It's her chocolate buttercream frosting
recipe that I used, another really great find, incredibly delicious. Email
me if you want it.
Again,
this frosting would probably just taste average if I hadn't used VALRHONA
cocoa powder. .
Now, for the 'grave dirt' I ground up some chocolate cookies - these from Trader
Joe's worked out well, but so do Oreos. The white middle part should
just dissolve.
